A proprietary algorithm considers the number of matches with your current hand, as well as the probability of each needed tile being selected from the pile. For example, flowers are more likely to be drawn because there are eight of them. So hands with flowers are often bumped up in the ranking.
Because MahJongg tiles are complex Chinese symbols that can vary from vendor to vendor, the camera processing feature may make mistakes. Always check and correct your initial hand. If the camera feature isn’t working well for you, you’ll find that it’s pretty quick and easy to just manually enter the hand.
In the goal and your hand rows, bright tiles show matches. A blue J in the goal hand indicates a match with a joker in your hand. A red X in your hand is a tile you selected to be discarded or traded. When a new tile is chosen, it will replace one of these X’d tiles.
The tile selection block is enabled when there is one or more X’d tiles In your hand. If a tile is dimmed, it’s because all of that type have been played.
The sort function toggles between sorting suit first or value first. If there are tiles marked for discard or trade (red X), a third sort option puts them at the end so you can easily see what they get replaced with. You can also drag and drop a tile if you don’t like where the sort put it.
The MahJongg gods will wreak terrible vengeance upon you.
